The British Standards Institute published a Code of Practice on Business Continuity Management in November 2006 and a Specification in November 2007.  The Code of Practice provides general guidance on the principles and practices of Business Continuity and the specification of a basis against which organisations can seek accreditation.  It is widely considered that this standard will become the benchmark against which organisational Business Continuity will be assessed in the future
